Production Artist / Graphic Design
Growing screen printing / embroidery company is looking to add to our growing team. The Production Artist monitors and oversee all aspects of the design process from start to finish with speed and accuracy. This position is responsible for the day to day film printing and designing and using the large format printer for stickers and cadcut on a regular basis.
Job Responsibilities
- Accurately follow work instructions to create graphics from scratch and/or clean up provided artwork for clients/retail for apparel and promotional products
- Send mockups to clients and communicate changes and revisions in a timely matter to meet internal and external deadlines
- Complete webstores including place art, branding and creating work orders
- Print final mockups and films for all jobs going to production
- Create, prepare files and operate wide format printing and cad cut (will train)
- Create files for embroidery and send off to digitize prior to garments arrival
- Watch inventory levels and complete supply request form for graphic department, vinyl and large format printer
- Design and send off orders for patches and tackle twill
- Maintenance of printer and Versicamm
- Heatpress as needed for numbering, personalization and sublimated transfers
- Prepare Trending Now Promotions promotional fliers, pamphlets and marketing
- Answer phone and backup in the production area as needed
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Work Environment / Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit 85% - 100% of the time. Ocassionally bend, kneel, reach, twist, and lifting (occasionally up to 40lbs)
- Frequent use of hands and fingers and the need to reach with hands and arms
- Job may involve climbing on ladders to reach higher shelf levels
- Contact with and use of cleaning chemicals is required
Mandatory Skills
- Creating and modifying vector art should be second nature
- Computer skills; Word, Excel and Outlook preferred.
- Work well within a team while multitasking in a fast-paced work environment with tight deadlines. Prioritize and continually improve processes
- Ability to accurately follow stand operating procedures with minimal direction.
- Visual Color Discrimination or ability to match or detect differences between colors, including shades of color and brightness.
- Problem Sensitivity or ability to recognize there is a problem and accountable and ability to make sound judgement and decisions
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced setting and meet quality control standards established
- Strong documentation skills, accuracy and attention-to-detail necessary.
- Proven ability to work effectively in team situations as well as independently. Follow instructions with eagerness to learn more and be a value member
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Must be an Adobe Illustrator and photoshop EXPERT - Sorry, there are no exceptions to this. Minimum of 2 years’ work experience
- Experience with Roland software preferred or large format printing software
- Prefer experience in a screen-printing / embroidery production environment
- Graphic’s Degree or Art related Degree
Salary: $16.00 to $19.00 / hour
