Job Description: Assistant General Manager


Overview


The Assistant Restaurant Manager supports the Restaurant Manager, Shift Leaders, and Team in daily operations, ensuring excellent guest experiences and operational success. They assume full managerial responsibilities in the Restaurant Manager’s absence, focusing on floor operations, training, and team leadership. This role helps drive top-line sales and profitability while maintaining Dunkin’ standards and compliance with franchisee policies and applicable laws

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform all duties of Restaurant Team Members
  • Lead team meetings alongside the Restaurant Manager
  • Oversee Brand Training Programs, including scheduling, training, and certifying team members
  • Ensure Brand standards, recipes, and systems are executed
  • Foster a guest-focused culture and implement action plans based on guest feedback
  • Communicate restaurant priorities, goals, and results to the team
  • Assist with product rollouts, in-store marketing, and promotional initiatives
  • Maintain safety, food safety, and sanitation standards in compliance with regulations
  • Control costs to optimize profitability
  • Conduct and oversee inventory management
  • Assist with labor scheduling to meet service standards and guest demand
  • Support staff assignments, deployment, and vendor orders
  • Conduct self-assessments and implement corrective action plans
  • Ensure adherence to the restaurant budget
  • Oversee cash management and ensure compliance with financial policies


Management Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, hire, onboard, and develop team members
  • Assist in performance appraisals for team and shift leads
  • Coach employees to improve sales, profitability, and guest satisfaction


Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience in the food service or retail environment
  • Basic computer, math, and financial management skills.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • Previous leadership experience in retail, restaurant, or hospitality
  • Ability to train and develop a team
