Endres Manufacturing is looking for a Machine Operator and Material Handler for our Structural Department. Machine Operators take care of all machine-specific functions such as configuring the equipment, loading, and operating the machines, and optimizing the machine capability. They need to ensure that the machine works at its full capacity, oversee its maintenance, and perform timely quality checks. Material Handlers are responsible for all material handling needs, primarily using overhead remote cranes to move Structural Steel.

Location: Arlington, WI

Shifts Available:

  • 2nd Shift: Monday–Thursday, 3:30PM - 3:00AM

Key Responsibilities

Machine Operation

  • Set up, calibrate, and operate machines in the Structural Department.
  • Load raw materials into semi-automated machines.
  • Perform regular machine checks, cleaning, and minor maintenance.
  • Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and fix basic mechanical issues.
  • Conduct quality inspections using appropriate tools.
  • Learn to operate multiple machines and production processes.
  • Follow all safety policies and use required PPE.

Material Handling

  • Safely load and unload materials from trucks and around the shop.
  • Use overhead remote cranes and forklifts to move structural steel.
  • Verify material received under purchase orders.
  • Report shortages, damage, or incorrect shipments.
  • Maintain proper stock rotation and assist with inventory counts.
  • Keep materials organized in designated storage locations.
  • Ensure all handling equipment is used safely and kept in good condition.

General Duties

  • Support daily tasks in the Structural Department.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Follow work instructions, job layouts, and blueprints.
  • Meet scheduling and production demands.
  • Work independently or with a team as needed.
  • Contribute to company goals and objectives.

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of machine operation experience or related education preferred.
  • Ability to perform minor maintenance on equipment.
  • Basic math skills and ability to read tape measures.
  • Knowledge of heavy duty and high speed machinery.
  • Ability to operate hand tools, overhead cranes, and forklifts.
  • Strong measurement tool skills.
  • Willingness to cross train in different machines and departments.
  • Ability to read blueprints, work instructions, and handbooks.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Understanding of safety procedures and hazard regulations.
  • High school diploma or GED required.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

  • Ability to work as part of a team to complete shared tasks.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, twisting, and reaching.
  • Regular use of hands and fingers for tools and machine operation.
  • Ability to work indoors, outdoors, and in dusty or noisy environments.
  • Ability to work in high places, tight spaces, and confined areas.
  • Must be able to lift and carry 50 to 75 pounds frequently.
  • Must be able to train on first shift at our Waunakee, WI location.
