We are hiring a reliable and hardworking General Laborer to perform material handling, machine operating, and painting duties in our production environment. This position plays a key role in keeping our operations running smoothly.

Locations:

Waunakee, WI and Arlington, WI

Shifts:

• 1st Shift: 6:00 AM to 3:30 PM
• 2nd Shift: 3:30 PM to 3:00 AM

Key Responsibilities

Material Handling

• Load and unload steel materials and finished products
• Move materials using forklifts, overhead cranes, and other equipment
• Store and organize materials in designated locations
• Verify materials received against purchase orders
• Report shortages, damage, or incorrect shipments
• Assist with inventory and stock rotation
• Prioritize tasks to meet scheduling demands

Machine Operating

• Operate a variety of machines used in steel manufacturing
• Calibrate machines before production
• Perform routine inspections and cleaning
• Feed raw materials into semi-automated machines
• Load and unload materials within the shop and from trucks
• Follow all safety procedures and operational guidelines
• Assist with basic troubleshooting and minor maintenance

Painting

• Prepare steel surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and priming
• Apply paint using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment
• Inspect painted surfaces for quality, thickness, and consistency
• Make touch ups or corrections when needed
• Maintain painting equipment including sprayers and compressors
• Follow all safety and PPE requirements
• Keep simple records of materials used and work completed

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments preferred
• Ability to operate forklifts, cranes, and material handling equipment
• Basic machine operation and maintenance knowledge
• Painting or surface preparation experience is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching
• Comfortable working in a noisy, dusty, or temperature varying environment
